Cozy noodle shop makes me giggle
Yummy, i love Thai! Cozy noodle is an adorable place just a block south of Wrigley Field. Good Thai, cheap dinner, and a really fun dining room. The best thing about Thai is you know they always have great vegetarian options, and on this visit Dan and i both had very tasty tofu dishes. But really, it's not the food i am here to talk about (ask Dan if you really want the full details on that!) what i love is the look of this place. The dining room is bright, with sunny yellow walls and shelves full of antique tin windup toys and a large retro radio collection. The tables are made of old Singer-sewing tables (the kind you pump with your feet) and the service is always enthusiastic. For some odd reason, they have a full size Elvis! and it's BYOB, so we picked up our new favorite, Sangria-for-lazy-people, no fruit slicing required. mmmm, tasty. As an added bonus, the mere act of finishing a bottle of wine between the two of us, in the course of a 1 hour meal, had us feeling great for the rest of the night.
There seems to be this thing in Chicago about bathroom decor, and Cozy Noodle doesn't disappoint in their own entry for "Coolest bathrooms." The men's room is wallpapered in action figures, and the ladies is dripping with Pez dispensers! hilarious, and so colorful.
